The Jerusalem String Quartet

A handful of courageous year 7 and 8 students ventured out on the evening of the ‘ice storm’ to attend what was surely one of the finest evenings of chamber music in Graz this year: the Jerusalem Quartet.

The concert took place at the KUG Mumuth hall.  The string quartet played an impressive program: Smetena’s first string quartet, followed by Five Pieces for String Quartet by Schulhoff, and ended with Schostakovich’s second string quartet.

The concert was KUG’s newly appointed chamber music professor Alexander Pavlovsky’s ‘Antrittskonzert’, and was free!

Some familiar faces were in the audience, including former GIBS student and professional violinist Cathi Liendl.
