GIBS Space Oddity

The visit to the Space Research Institute this week gave the Astronomy elective students the opportunity to discuss space exploration with a team of researchers from different fields.

The visit included a description of the instruments used in previous/current projects and an overview of future space missions.

The IWF researchers have an active role in the development of space instruments. They design the prototype, test the different parameters and find solutions to overcome extreme  conditions that include the effects of cosmic radiation, drastic temperature changes and extreme G-Forces.
