This past January 20th students in year 4 and music students in year 7 were able to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in a special way! Year 4 students traveled to the Stefaniensaal to attended the Graz Recreation Orchestra’s morning dress rehearsal of Beethoven’s Prometheus Overture and Triple Concert. Year 7 music students attended the evening performance, which also included Beethoven’s second symphony. To prepare for this exciting event, both groups were treated to a workshop led by violinist Yevgeny Chepovetsky, who was the featured soloist in the Triple Concerto, and former GIBS student/Recreation Orchestra cellist Floris Fortin. Former GIBS student Kathi Liendl was also seen on stage in the violin section! It was a wonderful experience for all students!
