Drama Performance – Years 2–4

This year’s Drama performances took place on the 23rd of June (evening) and the 24th of June (morning), bringing drama, mystery, and plenty of unforgettable moments to the stage. The evening show welcomed parents, relatives, teachers, and friends, while the morning performance was enjoyed by Year 1 and Year 2 students.

With a record-breaking 25 students joining Drama this year, the department didn’t just stop at one play — it went big with two productions!

Year 2 performed “Too Many Detectives at the Murder Mansion.” Madame Doyle invites a group of the world’s most famous detectives — including Sherlock Holmes, Nancy Drew, Batman, and Miss Marple — to a glamorous gala event at her murder mansion and museum. However, the evening takes a dark turn when Madame Doyle herself is murdered. Suddenly, the guests find themselves as suspects in a thrilling mystery full of twists and surprises.

Year 3 and 4, supported by some Year 2 students, performed “Retreat.” The play is set in a yoga centre called the Mountain Breeze Retreat Center, where two college students, Rebecca and Esme, sign up for a week of yoga, wellness, and relaxation. While Esme is sceptical from the beginning, Rebecca is excited. Upon arrival, they are welcomed by the head guru, Mother Maya, but it soon becomes clear that something about the retreat is not quite as peaceful as it seems.

Despite the heat, both performances were a huge success, filled with energy, laughter, and suspense. Ms Kranawetter and Ms McCrea would like to thank all audience members, performers, and helpers for making this year’s Drama productions such a memorable success — and for proving once again that things are never quite calm in Drama.
