Be Young at Heart

On June 13th, GIBS’s 5c classs had the valuable opportunity to visit LKH West for a lecture on cardiological procedures aimed to help people with heart problems.

Dr Saurer, a GIBS parent, invited 5c and organized a lecture by Dr Harb, an interventional cardiologist. Dr Harb discussed balloon procedures and stents. Dr Saurer talked about pace makers and ICDs (implantable cardiac defibrillators)

The excursion was wonderfully organized. We had the chance to understand the procedures of opening up clogged arteries and of  inserting rhythm instruments into the body.

Thank you Dr Saurer and Dr Harb for giving life to Biology course content!
