Chepovetsky & Fortin @ GIBS

GIBS is looking forward to hosting an afternoon of music and conversation with violinist Yevgeny Chepovetsky and cellist Floris Fortin this coming Monday, January 13th.  All year 4 students as well as music students in year 7 will have the opportunity to have a peek into the life of a professional musician, as well as hear some great music and learn a little about the life and music of Beethoven.  The year 2020 marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s baptism, and to celebrate, classes 4a, 4b and 4c will be attending an open rehearsal in the morning and music students of year 7 will be attending the evening performance of an all-Beethoven program which will feature Yevgeny on violin as a soloist on the Triple Concerto, and Floris in the cello section.  Yevgeny and Floris are the co-founders of the Oberton String Octet, who we were honoured to feature at GIBS last year in a special evening performance with our students.
