IB Space Week @ Gibs

Dipl.- Ing. B.Sc. Sunny Laddha (Gibs Alumni, TU Graz) presented his PhD research project, that involves data collected from ESA’s Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer, Juice. The research project is using quantum interference to measure magnetic fields.

The mission Juice will make detailed observations of the giant gas planet and its three large ocean-bearing moons – Ganymede, Callisto and Europa – with a suite of remote sensing, geophysical and in situ instruments.

Doutor Günter Kargl (OeAW Space Research Institute) explained the different steps involved in the planning and execution of a space mission and discussed some of the previous and future space missions.

The Space Research Institute is focused on the physics and exploration of the Solar System and exoplanets. It develops and builds space-qualified instruments that are expanding our knowledge of the universe.
