Code of Conduct

Terms that are on use on this site.

Appropriate behaviour and attitude

  • Go to your desk when the bell rings and be ready to work when your teacher arrives
  • If you are late, apologize and explain why
  • Class stands when the teacher enters the room
  • Mobile phones must be switched off and kept out of sight during class
  • Personal stereos must not be used in class
  • You must follow the instructions of staff (janitors, secretary, co-teachers, teachers)
  • at all times and address them politely

Keeping things clean, tidy and in good condition

  • You must wear indoor shoes in school
  • (October 15th – April 15th)
  • The school offers students the opportunity to rent a personal locker for the duration of their enrolment. The cost for this service is € 20.– in addition to a € 12.– refundable deposit for the key.
  • Keep your shoes on the rack in the cloakroom
  • and hang other items up
  • Waste must be separated
  • No eating or drinking (except water) during class.
  • Food and drink are not allowed on the third floor nor in the library and the computer labs.
  • You may only use school media equipment with staff permission
  • Do not sit on any windowsills,on the desks in the cafeteria area or on stairs.
  • Use the venetian blinds as a sunshade and the inside blinds as a blackout
  • Pictures, posters etc must be displayed on pinboards
  • When school is over leave your classroom clean and tidy with the floor clear and the chairs up on the desks

Free time

  • You may go out into the yard during the 20minute break. (Change shoes in winter.)
  • Soft balls only may be used in the yard
  • You are not allowed on the third floor during break without staff supervision
  • Windows must be shut unless a teacher is present. You may only open or close windows with staff permission
  • GIBS (including footpath in front of building) is a no-smoking area
  • Dangerous items (e.g. knives, lighters, matches) must not be used on school premises
  • If you bring skates, skateboards, scooters etc to school, they must be left in the cloakroom and not used on school premises
  • Mopeds and bikes are not allowed on school premises. Park them in the street
  • Running, kicking and throwing games are not allowed in the school building
  • After school you only have access to classrooms when a teacher is present

Arriving, leaving and moving around school

  • Enter school through the basement
  • You may only use the lift with staff permission
  • Stay out of the primary school area
  • You do not have access to the photocopying room, the staff computer room or the media room
  • Only enter the staffroom or Principal’ s office if you are asked to do so
  • You may not leave the school building in the course of the morning without staff permission
