No lo olvidaré. Mi experiencia fue muy divertida. Me gustó la ciudad mucho y quiero ir allí otra vez en el futuro.  A pesar de la lluvia pasamos un buen tiempo. Me encantó la excursión a Santander aunque hacía mucho frio, porque fuimos al mar. Vivimos muchas aventuras y pasamos un rato que moló. Para mi, el intercambio con León fue una experiencia emocional y no lo olvidaré. Llovía todos los días, pero eso no nos molestó. La comida estaba muy rica y era diferente. Todos los día había demasiada comida. Hablé mucho  español y conocí la vida y la cultura española. Hicimos muchos amigos nuevos. A pesar de la lluvia, nada nos impidió meter nuestras piernas en el mar hasta las rodillas y éste es uno de mis recuerdos preferidos. La comida leonesa es muy diferente a la austriaca. Lo que más me sorprendió es lo mucho que comen los españoles, comen todo el día sin pausa pero todos son muy delgados. “Soy el p* amo”. Nosostros bebimos chocolate con churros, una bebida muy famosa de León que está muy rica. El Harley es el mejor bar de León. La lluvia no nos molestó y disfrutamos los días en León. Conocí una cultura nueva y diferente. Hice nuevos amigos que quiero mucho. Fue un viaje emocionante. Aprendí palabras nuevas: contraseña , llueve cuatro gotas, merienda…Pasé un tiempo increíble con gente muy maja y quiero volver. La experiencia en León ha sido única. Conocimos una cultura muy tranquila y pasamos un buen tiempo con nuestros nuevos amigos. Los chicos y chicas eran muy divertidos. No lo olvidaré. Una vez nosotros comimos el cocido que es muy famoso pero no sabe bien. Por la noche fuimos a un bar donde vimos fútbol. El chocolate con churros era muy rico. Ver el partido entre el Barcelona y el Chelsea en un bar fue una experiencia muy buena y divertida. Los chicles y las gominolas estaban muy buenas. Fue una experiencia nueva y muy interesante. La gente era muy maja.

April 2012 im Resowi-Zentrum bildete. Grazer Gemeinde- und StadtradtspolitikerInnen diskutierten mit VertreterInnen der Sicherheitsbehörden und des ACIPSS sowie mit SchülerInnen der Graz International Bilingual School (GIBS).

Im Rahmen des Internetspiels „Das magische Buch“ sollten SchülerInnen im Laufe von 10 Wochen 10 Episoden durchspielen. In jeder Episode mussten für Kiki und Fred 3 knifflige Aufgaben bewältigt werden, die alle durch Internetrecherche zu lösen waren. Die Aufgaben waren oft gar nicht so einfach, sodass man wirklich genau recherchieren musste.

Aus den ca.1400 Schülerinnen und Schülern, die alle 10 Episoden geschafft haben, ist Katharina Schnedl aus der 2b gezogen worden und hat ein Buch- und Hörbuchpaket gewonnen. Wir gratulieren!

Gestaltet und umgesetzt wurde das Internetspiel gemeinsam von Buch.Zeit und der edugroup.

The first part of the excursion involved stations that answered the following questions:

a) How much water do various fruits hold?

b) What is the Rose of Jericho?

c) Why do different mineral waters have different tastes?

d) What are the special properties of bärlappsporen?

e) What variety of life does one find in a pond?

The second part of the excursion involved getting into groups of about five, formulating research questions, conducting experiments and presenting results.

On Tuesday during break time, some 2c girls showed off their acrobatic skills!

The favorite activity was hunting for Kaulquappen, Teilmolche, Baby Hechte, Schnecken, Pferdeegel, Wasserskorpion and Eintagsfliegenlarven in a big nearby pond teeming with plant and animal life.

We had sunny weather, curious students and excellent presentations…enjoy the pictures!

The opportunity to have an expert at school who answers all your questions about the European Union stirred the interest of many students. 6B even had the chance to find out what it is like to be environment ministers of different countries; their classroom was turned into a conference hall and everyone was part of a (simulated) meeting of the Council of the EU.

spending Snowfest in Tahoe City,

watching whales in San Fran bay!

 

When we first noticed the ripe oranges hanging from the trees in Sacramento, we thought we had finally hit spring. But winter hit back with a vengeance as soon as we drove up to Lake Tahoe, leaving us with two sunny snow days to spend with our unbelievably welcoming host families and fresh powder, skiing, hot-tubing, and immersing ourselves in the American cultural experience.  So we literally brought the snow for their exciting community festival: Snowfest. We had a lot of fun taking part in the myriad of activities on offer: torchlight parade, watching fireworks and the laser light shows, fire department pancake breakfast, ice-cream eating contest, polar bear swim, etc.

With tears in our eyes, we headed off to San Francisco, where more fun and adventure awaited us. With a stopover at the Jelly Belly Factory we sweetened our day and gained enough energy to walk beautiful Lombard Street and explore our new neighborhood. We woke up to a cable car ride, and a tour through Union Square, China Town and North Beach before heading to the docks to catch our boat out to Alcatraz. This even gave us the chance to get to know a local San Franciscan who now plays for the NFL.  He was luckily in the off-season, so he “quarterbacked” us out to Alcatraz and gave us the chance to experience an arena football game in San Jose – “Go Cats!”

On our bikes, we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, enjoyed lunch on the beach and spotted two whales, frolicking near the bridge.  Later in the afternoon, we enjoyed some yummy ice-cream cakes, live music on pier 39 and a great threatre-sport improv show.

Birthday parties and shopping pleasures wrapped up our unforgettable trip.

They stuck post-it notes onto the windows to create shapes, animals and letters. The window art could be seen from the school courtyard, have a look at the photos if you missed it! Unfortunately these works of art only have a short life span and the post-it notes are already slowly falling down.
