GIBS goes MUSEUM

150 students rock the museum’s boat. The aim of this  hands-on-project was to give students from year six a chance to dive into the history of Styria and become experts on the objects that are displayed in the Archäologiemuseum, Münzkabinett and the Lapidarium in Eggenberg. The Joanneum team trained the students to become guides for a lively tour through the museum. After this intensive phase, the peer-to-peer education started and 75 students from year two were informed about the highlights of the museum. They enjoyed the relaxed presentations, the excitement of their guides, who tried their best to get their messages across and answer all the creative questions. Finally, the guides were sent back to school and the little ones were allowed to paint Stone Age graffiti, design fibulas and decorate amulets.
