Deutsch Blues Workshop with Ulrich Ellison
Who: Ulrich Ellison, alias Ulrich Guggenberger, studied at the University of Music in Vienna and graduated as a “Tonmeister”. He won a Fulbright scholarship to do a master in jazz performance in Austin, Texas.
He won the “Downbeat Student Award” three times in a row and has played in all the major Austin club venues including the Elephant Room. He teaches at the Austin Guitar School and has just released a DVD/CD “Live From Austin, TX”.
What: In the workshop he will share his experience with students of GIBS, perform and play together with them.
He will introduce them to Blues, the typical call-response scheme, to rhythm and melody of Afro-American music, including the European influence.
